Life is
built through secrets. We may believe something, but another person may know
the actual truth. For instance, last year, my grandmother’s doctor phoned my
aunt saying that my grandma had breast cancer. My grandma was already going
through a tough time because she had lost her eye vision, so instead, we kept it
from her. It was really hard because I love my grandma so much, I felt so mean
and guilty but this was for the best. It has been weeks without telling her,
but we came to a conclusion that we have to tell her because she was already
losing her hair. When we were going to tell her, she had told my other aunt, “I
hope this isn’t cancerous, I haven’t been feeling very well.” So as hard as it
was, she assumed and we told her. She was strong, but still hurting inside. She inspires me to
stay strong no matter what happens. Sometimes it is best to keep something a
secret to prevent someone from hurting, but other times things should be said
before it is too late.
